William Renner joined Aperture (formerly CAC Forensics) as an Accident Reconstructionist in 2022. Will comes to this role with unique expertise from his time as a police officer. While working at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in 2019, Will joined the accident investigation team. His time with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office gives him unique insight from a law-enforcement perspective when he is reconstructing accidents with Aperture.

During his time as a police officer, Will participated in professional development relating to accident reconstruction, including courses through Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), crash data retrieval systems training, and CRUSH training via the Collision Safety Institute (CSI), and many more.

Will spent seven years investigating single and multi-vehicle crashes involving motorcycles, passenger vehicles, and commercial motor vehicles. Will gained more than 1600 hours of Texas Commission on Law Enforcement accredited training and over 1000 vehicle crashes investigated. 430 of those crashes were documented via the State of Texas Crash Reporting system.

Primarily responsible for fatality and serious bodily injury accidents along with minor and major motor vehicle accidents when time permitted. Ability to identify factors involved in crashes such as speed and mechanical defects. Ability to use mathematics/physics to determine what caused a crash and assign contributing factors. Interviewed suspects, victims, and witnesses regarding accidents on a weekly basis. 

Stafford Police Department, 2016 - 2019, Field Training Officer / Police Officer

Recommended to become a field training officer after two years of service. Trained/supervised new and upcoming recruits in the duties of a patrol officer. Demonstrated the professional standards of law enforcement using SPD’s policies and procedures. Evaluated the performance of the recruit based upon observations of field and office work.
