Joshua Merritt joined Aperture (formerly CAC Forensics) in 2023 as a Forensic Engineer. Joshua has investigated and participated in the reconstruction of accidents involving passenger vehicles, andcommercial vehicles, He has experience working for clients on both the plaintiff and defense sides of litigation. His responsibilities include the inspection of vehicles and scenes to gather evidence, including downloading event data recorder (EDR) systems from passenger and heavy vehicles, processing and analysis of collected data, and the creation of exhibits related to the reconstruction of accidents.

Prior to joining the team at Aperture, Joshua was a Junior Engineer at U.S. Forensic where he worked in failure analysis. His responsibilities included analysis of low-speed passenger vehicle crashes, failure, electrical, and fire inspections, as well as testing and report writing.

Joshua graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. While pursuing his studies, Joshua was Vice President of the LSU Investing Club where he mentored students to analyze companies and capital markets. He was also a member of the LSU Bengal Bots team, leading the design, building, and testing of a combat robot.
