Michael Jorgensen
Forensic Engineer - Accident Reconstruction
Michael Jorgensen has been a Forensic Engineer and Accident Reconstructionist with Aperture (formerly American Bio Engineers) since 2021. In his time with Aperture, Michael has attended multiple accident reconstruction conferences and participated in numerous instrumented crash tests.
A Las Vegas native, Michael Jorgensen attended the Northwest Career and Technical Academy. He graduated with an Advanced Honors diploma with a focus in engineering & design in 2015. In 2019, Michael went on to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. For his senior design project at UNLV, Michael leveraged his unique expertise with robotics and programming to design and fabricate a crash sled to simulate minor impacts without the need to destroy donor vehicles. His background played a crucial role in designing the automated driving features of the crash sled.
Michael is currently a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI), and is a certified Engineer Intern by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He has also obtained a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA for commercial use of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). Michael spends his free time volunteering as a mentor to high school FIRST Robotics teams; he hopes to share his passion for robotics, programming, and engineering with future generations.
