Daniel Stange

Forensic Expert

Daniel Stange is a Forensic Expert with Aperture (formerly WEXCO). In his time with Aperture, Daniel has documented over 100 accident scenes, utilizing advanced technology to capture pertinent details regarding the location of where an accident occurred.

Daniel earned his Master of Science in Physics from Northern Illinois University in 2015. In 2021, he earned his Master of Science in Law from Northwestern University. He is a certified FARO 3D Laser Scanner operator, a licensed remote pilot of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) through the FAA, and is fully versed in software applications for analysis of captured data. Daniel is proficient with software applications like FARO’s SCENE, Pix4d, Bentley’s ContextCapture, and Capturing Reality’s RealityCapture.

Daniel is a member of the American Society of Metals (ASM) and is the author of Modeling and Accident Reconstruction, a chapter within the ASM handbook. Daniel also has hands-on experience in conducting failure analysis on a variety of metallic and polymeric materials utilizing advanced analytical equipment such as scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry in addition to managing an American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) accredited construction materials testing lab.
